Special Characters

The keyboard doesn’t have a key for all characters in common. To cope with that, Lemma provides some functions to help you add those characters to your documents conveniently.

First-off, there’s a sidebar with buttons for many special characters. You can show / hide it by clicking Ω or pressing Alt+1.

There are also ways to enter special characters while typing, directly from the text editor. They are explained in the following sections.

Quotes and Dashes

You can add some quotation marks and dashes by typing a similar looking sequence, like -- (to get ), followed by a whitespace key (like space or ). The sequence will then be replaced by the matching character. So typing -- results in .
